About Brad
I grew up in Tamworth, NSW, and eventually found my way to Adelaide, where I studied Health Sciences at the University of South Australia. But my real education came outside the classroom — supporting myself and others through autoimmune illness.
I saw how symptoms rarely exist in isolation — they arise from the relationship between mind, body, environment, and lived experience.As I explored holistic and psycho-somatic approaches, it became clear that many conventional health products were missing something essential.
They worked against the body rather than with it. That frustration led me back to traditional remedies and natural systems — where healing is relational, contextual, and deeply intelligent.In 2016, I started Against the Grain Health with a van, a handful of formulations, and a willingness to listen.
I travelled the East Coast of Australia, batching products as I went and sharing them at community markets. Those conversations shaped ATG more than any textbook ever could.
That journey eventually settled on the Sunshine Coast, where ATG Health continues today from our warehouse in Coolum Beach. What started with skin has evolved into an inside-out approach to wellbeing — adaptogens, tonics, and tools that support the whole human system.Markets, festivals, and intimate gatherings remain central to our work.
They create a living feedback loop — spaces where people can be seen, heard, and supported in ways that modern wellness culture often overlooks.
